Yahoo 360° - MS ADVOCATE FOR HEALTH AND FUNDING - Entry for February 08, 2007
As some you may know I live with multiple sclerosis, that used to be so had to say and harder to admit. I say it now with pride, not having this disease but having it and still able to smile, take a look at the About Me link at the top. I live in Japan and thankfully the insurance problems don’t affect me with the social insurance here. Recently I hit a bottom that woke me up, I needed to start doing for myself. I started the MS Video Blog and I decided that weekly is too much so every two weeks I’ll post something new and try to share what I’ve learned, I hope you do the same. I recently found a link (at least Google alerts told me) about a person with/had MS and she wants to share their experience with a new therapy/cure. Japan can be behind the cutting edge because they are typically so safe with medications. If this proves to be safe and effective I’m on a plane to Chicago (or anywhere that can prove they found it). I’ll continue to do my physical rehab but I will stay with any news tremich shares.
To summarize what tremich said in his first post
Hopefully, the new stem cells will build a new, healthy, immune system to replace diseased immune system that caused my MS. The transplant was part of an ongoing study at Northwest Memorial Hospital in Chicago — A study that I feel very fortunate to have been a part of.
