StumbleVideo - Keith Olbermann - Special Comment

Olbermann does not sound like a happy camper, we shouldn’t be either. There was a flaw in the system that started with the election in 2000, the U.S. population has no one to blame but them selves and with their chance to fix things they elected the opposition party to replace bush’s republicans and the newly elected officials continue to support the flaw, are they part of the flawed system? Keith Olbermann uses his public voice to name names but maybe he should include the names that REELECTED bush, it’s a long list. The hunt for WMD’s was a noble effort in Iraq but wasn’t the UN already on the case before our shock and awe campaign? Maybe it’s time to think about impeachment, the democrats won’t do anything people to pressure them to use the courts to help out.

AlterNet: War on Iraq: Majority of Iraqi Lawmakers Now Reject Occupation

The citizens of the U.S. want to be out of Iraq and now the majority of Iraq government wants to the U.S. to leave, everyone shares a common goal but the U.S. administration. I guess Bush is
waiting for the next Saddam to come up in the Shite community. With the recent scrabblings going n under the radar, this article made the point on why the U.S. attacked in the first place, “Blood for Oil”

I was trying to say he same thing in an earlier post but this author used eloquence I lack, he got the point across when I just confused everyone including myself. Let’s just start the impeachment that sure to follow and not continue putting American lives at risk.

News from Barack Obama, not hiding behind politics

Obama Makes Vow to End Iraq Conflict

Barack Obama would have my vote if I thought the U.S. System wasn’t for sale and would allow the vote of the people to choose and not the supreme court i.e. 2000. No other candidate I’ve heard so far as to date gives a date for withdrawal from Iraq, in this case the March 2008 date voted by Congress.

Is he live or Nixon?

Last night I saw the documentary (my wife hates documentaries) “US vs John Lennon” and I was struck by the similarities of the conflicts. Both were mismanaged, both saw too many American servicemen loose their lives, and both resulted in loosing face for America around the world. What really struck me (besides my wife watching after watching another documentary) was Nixon’s quotes used in the documentary and bush jr’s attempts to weasel out of the latest bad news. I couldn’t find the quotes on the internet to show you but I recommend the movie (I do want to mention the Yoko Ono still has tributes for John Lennon here in Japan were she lives) and read over this link I found that quotes a Nixon speech that sounds so similar to bush jr. The U.S. Senate has made a strong point in the US’s involvement in Iraq. Sen. McCain has made a point that if you announce withdrawal is spurs the combatants to fight but aren’t they fighting now? How much can they do to themselves? If US servicemen and servicewomen aren’t in Iraq how much damage to the troops can they do? I wanted to link to this article not for any groundbreaking news not for the great news it declared but for this one comment that said it all:

McCain knows better. You can not win a war without objectives. Over 600,000 Iraqi civilians are dead from this war. We can win every battle and still not win the good will of the Iraqi people.

The real motivation behind this war is the oil. Not as much as to sell it on the market, but to keep it in the ground, to be sold at a higher price on a later day. This is not a war worthy of the United States military.

This is a war that is draining the blood and the will from the best of us.

Call me a paranoid moonbat, but it seems that is an objective of this war, although it is not an objective of our forces.

Evangelical Christians attack use of torture by US | Special reports | Guardian Unlimited

Evangelical Christians attack use of torture by US | Special reports | Guardian Unlimited

If you asked before reading the headline, I would have said “When pigs fly” before I would have claimed this.

To summarize:

The uncoupling of American evangelism from the administration of George Bush gathered pace yesterday when one of the largest national umbrella groups of socially conservative Christians issued a statement critical of US policy towards detainees and repudiating torture as a tactic in the war on terror.

…”Tragically, documented cases of torture and inhumane and cruel behaviour have occurred at various sites in the war on terror, and current law opens procedural loopholes for more to continue,” the NAE said last night.

The strong alliance between Christian evangelicals and Mr Bush, an important key to his electoral successes, has been tested in recent months with the Mark Foley scandal over his attraction towards male teenage pages in Congress, and perceived corruption in parts of the Republican party.

…Yesterday’s statement on torture suggested a new determination on the part of the evangelical churches to detach themselves from the Republican party and stake their independence - even if it is from a position more traditionally associated with the left.

The Raw Story | ‘Timid’ Congress drives GQ correspondent to draft six articles of impeachment for Vice President Cheney

It takes more than just blogging about the obvious. A well thought article is what it takes to impeach anyone with power, especially the Vice-President of the U.S. I commend the author and I hope that many others will read the words of true freedom. his administration has imprisoned many people on the globe, it’s time to pay the bill.

To summarize:

“Over the past six years, as the country has spiraled into military misadventure, fiscal madness, and environmental meltdown, the vice president has not merely been wrong about the issues; he has been duplicitous, deceitful, and deliberately destructive to the American democracy,” Hylton writes.

“These things can no longer be denied by rational minds: That in the buildup to war in Iraq, the vice president, lacking confidence in the true casus belli, conspired to invent additional ones, misrepresenting the available intelligence, crafting new ‘intelligence,’ and then spreading these falsehoods to the public, perverting the democratic process that he is sworn to uphold,” Hylton adds.

BBC NEWS | Middle East | US accuses Iran over Iraq bombs

The U.S. administration has strained there believeability to a point where this sounds like there original WMD claims. I fully support making U.S. troops safe in that environment. As an American citizen I ask that we all should investigate all claims to there fullest before we declare another war. If the claims are true maybe the Iranian started on this path because they how stretched to the breaking point the U.S. is. Investigate the claims to their fullest and investigate those that making the claims and move forward slowly and carefully.

“We assess that these activities are coming from the senior levels of the Iranian government,” one official said.

You owe Uncle Sam $800, pay up!

I herd something today that floored me. I was getting an acupuncture session (as I do every other week, it helps me with my MS) and the acupuncturist had the Japanese news which was playing news from the US. They were talking about bush’s plan to get $100 billion for his war. I’ll say that again, $100,000,000,000 that’s in dollars and according to the talking head that comes out to $800 for every citizen in the US. I haven’t figured out whether that just tax paying citizens or everyone. If it’s everyone then a baby born owes the government $800, never-mind the hospital bill. I think the bill should to the voters that put him there and leave the rest of us alone.
