NEWSWEEK Poll: 90% Believe in God - Newsweek Beliefs - MSNBC.com

This explain many things like the mess created in Iraq and the state of American politics. The world is paying also for the widespread ignorance with climate change, a real concern, I’m still on the fence whether climate change is man made or natural.

Things are tough all over

A woman was walking along the beach when she stumbled upon a Genie’s lamp. She picked it up and rubbed it and lo-and-behold a Genie appeared. The amazed woman asked if she got three wishes. The Genie said, “Nope…due to inflation, constant downsizing, low wages in third-world countries, and fierce global competition, I can only grant you one wish. So…what’ll it be?”
The woman didn’t hesitate. She said, “I want peace in the Middle East.” See this map? I want these countries to stop fighting with each other.” The Genie looked at the map and exclaimed, “Good God, lady! These countries have been at war for thousands of years. I’m good but not THAT good! I don’t think it can be done. Make another wish.”
The woman thought for a minute and said, “Well, I’ve never been able to find the right man. You know, one that’s considerate and fun, likes to cook and helps with the house cleaning, gets along with my family, doesn’t watch sports all the time and is faithful. That’s what I wish for…a good mate” The Genie let out a long sigh and said, “Let me see that fuckin’ map again…”

The U.S. Senate has made a strong point in the US’s involvement in Iraq. Sen. McCain has made a point that if you announce withdrawal is spurs the combatants to fight but aren’t they fighting now? How much can they do to themselves? If US servicemen and servicewomen aren’t in Iraq how much damage to the troops can they do? I wanted to link to this article not for any groundbreaking news not for the great news it declared but for this one comment that said it all:

McCain knows better. You can not win a war without objectives. Over 600,000 Iraqi civilians are dead from this war. We can win every battle and still not win the good will of the Iraqi people.

The real motivation behind this war is the oil. Not as much as to sell it on the market, but to keep it in the ground, to be sold at a higher price on a later day. This is not a war worthy of the United States military.

This is a war that is draining the blood and the will from the best of us.

Call me a paranoid moonbat, but it seems that is an objective of this war, although it is not an objective of our forces.

Lately I’ve been writing up my blog post and not just linking to what I find on the web. I couldn’t resist just linking and embedding once I saw this video. It left me with a silly smile on my face and I’m sure it will do the same to you

I’m sure that Viacom is thinking of a way to sue someone over this.

Here is a clip of the Daily Show that’s been declared illegal

As a sign of support for the people at Google (not that they need it) I’ve decided to demo a use of the copyrighted material that Viacom is using to get their payday from.

One thing the suits at Vaicom don’t want to admit is that the internet has let the tv out of the bag. If you’ve got a web-presence (blog, myspace, etc.) post this clip on your pages and cause Viacom to hemorrhage cash.

Overweight, obese, let’s call the whole thing off

I saw Penn and Teller’s TV Show Bullshit and it had an interesting view on things as it always does. The show spoke about overweight/obesity and the bullshits surrounding the terms. As someone that has always been annoyingly thin, it spoke to me, not really but since I’m always wary of what big business says is right for me. One idea that came to me is that being overweight or obese is not unhealthy in itself but the big business surrounding weight maybe a cause in trying to be thin as the media tries to make everyone feel like they’re fat. Maybe the root cause to be wary of if the fat laden foods that are so prevalent. I live in Japan and even here you’ll see an overweight person but the Japanese are less prone to the health problems you’ll find in the U.S.. The Japanese had health scares in the past due to weight loss schemes that caused people to die, those schemes came from China. But I believe in Chinese medicine, they had thousands of years of practice but greed is the cause of death everywhere. Japanese loved to smoke, you used to be able to light a cigarette in the bank, but cancer is less common here than in the west. The diet is different and maybe some of the foods need to be more common.

Here is the solution to climate change

Here is the solution to climate change

I have the solution to climate change but it will not be cheap or easy or any of the descriptors of the so-called solutions put on the table thus far. I promise this solution will work and provide energy needs for the planet for generations. Sounds big, this solution, but so does the problem of global warming. What the solution is: in a nutshell it’s an umbrella for the Arctic and Antarctic. These umbrellas will be composed of solar cells and the cells will transmit their energy to the ground via microwave.

It will work no matter if global warming is man-made or natural.

It sounds like an expensive system but the energy produced can be dived up by the idea of “what you put in is what you get back”.

A few caveats I’ve thought of:
We’re going to need allot of soar cells to make a difference. But this system doesn’t need to be built before the next presidential election in the U.S., It can built piecemeal.
Getting all those cells up there will tax the environment. Thus idea is dependent on getting the space elevator working. These hasn’t been enough work in the area but if we get the space elevator working and using power derived from space based solar cells it can run non-stop with using precious land-based energy sources.
The cells work as tiles put together orbiting the earth in a geostationary orbit. When it is no longer needed we can change the orbit and still transmit power back.

It’s win-win but allot of pieces need to get working.

The Apple TV looks like an interesting device. I would salivate having one but I own an Elgato eyeHome I had picked up on ebay ($80) for a lot less than the $250 US that the Apple TV is asking for. It has it’s shortcomings like the lack of WI-FI built in but a simple LAN cable resolved that issue and the pictures viewing on the eyeHome is lacking but good enough for my use.

Kill the RIAA!

I may have found a way around the RIAA. I made a radio station for me to listen to and I thought of sharing with all of you. I found the when I installed Apollo from Adobe which I trust not to screw up my computer, time will tell. I’m sure it’s only superficial but the RIAA is not getting more money from me, ever!

Spam should die

I had made a realization and I finally made it happen. My realization was the real true way to get rid of spam. I hate spam and go to lengths not to see it. I have implemented systems to make it difficult for spammers to put their crap on this blog. The new system I implemented was for my personal email. I sign but don’t encrypt (no one knows how decrypt) This system won’t work unless you all do the same. I’m talking about digitally signing your email to authenticate the email is from you. There are different ways to implement depending on your favorite email client. Getting the required keys are not difficult and setting up the system does not require programming. It probably will be over the head of some but it is simple. For the Mac I found this link which explains the steps is a easy to read step-by-step procedure, the link is at Using encryption and digital signatures in Mail. Windows clients your mileage may vary. It will only work if EVERYBODY uses digital signatures no one will be effected by spam again. Don’t think that Microsoft will help they are big spammers themselves.
